VISIBLE EMISSION TRAINING & CERTIFICATION
Morrison Environmental Engineering, Inc. (MEE) is pleased to offer Visible Emission Observer Training and Certification. Visible emission observation is an important tool to help facilities maintain compliance and improve environmental and operational performance. Successful participants will be certified as "Method 9 Visible Emissions Observers" by meeting the training and testing requirements established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Since 2003, MEE has provided Visible Emission Training and Certification to the general public as well as private sessions for businesses, institutions, and industry. MEE has extensive experience in the proper maintenance, setup, and operation of visible emissions training equipment and coordinating public and private training events.
We offer Smoke School Visible Emission Training and Certification sessions that are convenient to all areas of New England. Easy access from Boston, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. We are the most efficient and most cost-effective Smoke School.
This training/certification includes two parts, a classroom session and a field session. The 1.5 hour classroom session provides regulatory background and describes the techniques used to observe visible emissions. The field training consists of reading and documenting visible emissions from a smoke generator.
All first time observers must attend the classroom session and are asked to observe three complete runs, but only need to pass one complete run of black and white smoke.
For re-certification, participants do not need to attend the classroom session, although the class is recommended as a refresher every three years. A participant is required to successfully evaluate one complete run of black and white smoke to be re-certified. Certification remains valid for six months.
