Morrison Environmental Engineering, Inc. was founded in 1999 and since then has been providing environmental consulting services throughout the Northeast. MEE works with a wide range of clients, including: industry, private businesses, educational facilities, hospitals, and government agencies.
MEE’s founder and President, Karen Morrison, P.E., has over twenty nine years of experience in the environmental field. Ms. Morrison acquired her expertise in environmental engineering through her work with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Bureau of Air Quality, in the private sector first as an ergonomics and safety engineer and later as an environmental program manager at Bath Iron Works Corporation, and through ongoing work as an environmental consultant. Ms. Morrison’s primary focus has been in the fields of air quality and oil and hazardous material management, including permitting assistance, emissions reporting, environmental training, contingency planning, and visible emissions training and certification. Experience in other disciplines includes: Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA, Tier 2) planning and reporting, pollution prevention, toxic use reduction, environmental site evaluations, pressure vessel compliance, and underground and aboveground storage tank management. Karen is also a member of the University of Maine College of Engineering Advisory Board and was inducted into the University of Maine "Francis Crowe Society" for Outstanding Professional Service in the Field of Engineering.

Alan Morrison, Vice President, has worked in the environmental field for over thirty years, currently as an environmental consultant and previously with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, the US National Park Service, and the Metropolitan District Commission in Massachusetts. Mr. Morrison has worked with a wide range of businesses and industries, providing environmental assistance with technical and regulatory issues, air emissions permitting, air dispersion modeling, emissions tracking and reporting, visible emissions testing, visible emissions training and certification, environmental management system (EMS) development and implementation, emissions test program development, air monitoring systems quality assurance/quality control, stormwater management, Oil SPCC Plan development and training, and hazardous and universal waste management planning and training. Mr. Morrison also has in-depth knowledge of continuous monitoring systems (COMS and CEMS), and oversaw the quality assurance/quality control programs for these monitors at several major emissions sources. Mr. Morrison is also a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician with the Town of North Yarmouth, and this experience and perspective adds significantly to MEE's capabilities in emergency preparedness plan development and emergency response training.
